Italy is not only surrounded by seas, the country is also blessed with many lakes, especially in the North. The proximity of the Alps means that the lakes have clear alpine water, inviting you for a welcome swim to cool down during the summer months.
A non-exhaustive list would be:
- Lago d'Orta with the San Giulio Island, where the saint is buried
- Lago Maggiore and its Borromean Islands: Isola Bella, Isola Madre, Isola dei Pescatori, Isolino di San Giovanni and Malghera, a small rock
- Lago di Como, shaped like a upside-down Y
- Lago di Garda, the largest lake in Italy.
Casa in Italia has several beautiful properties close to these lakes.
