Villa La Romanica is an impressive 17th-century villa set in a beautiful panoramic position overlooking Lake Maggiore. Located in Baveno, this historic residence offers breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding landscape.

The villa has a fascinating history. In 1920 it was acquired by the French philosopher Maurice Blondel, who further developed and carefully maintained the remarkable gardens that still define the character of the estate today.

The property features four distinct gardens designed in different styles: Italian, English, Japanese and French. These beautifully landscaped gardens with rare plants, mature trees and peaceful pathways have been featured in several international garden magazines and create a truly unique setting.

The main villa extends over three floors and accommodates up to twelve guests. The property has been carefully restored, preserving its historic character while introducing modern comforts. Bright interiors and a tasteful blend of antique and contemporary furnishings create an elegant yet welcoming atmosphere.

A separate guest house with its own entrance provides accommodation for an additional four guests.

Outdoor living is an essential part of the experience at Villa La Romanica. Guests can enjoy meals either in the dining area in front of the villa or in the charming loggia overlooking the gardens.

The private swimming pool (15 × 6 m), surrounded by the lush gardens of the estate, offers a peaceful retreat with beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.

Lake Maggiore itself is only a five-minute walk away. From here guests can explore the famous Borromean Islands or enjoy boat trips across the lake.

The villa’s location is also ideal for excursions. Cities such as Milan and Como are within easy reach and perfect for memorable day trips.

Daily housekeeping service (except Tuesdays) ensures a comfortable and relaxed stay.

The staff live in a separate independent apartment on the estate, ensuring that guests’ privacy is never disturbed.

Villa (12 people)

As you enter the main villa on the ground floor, you will find a cozy living room opening to the outdoor terrace, a toilet and the spacious kitchen. You can enjoy your meals outdoors, both on the terrace in front of the villa and in the attractive central courtyard.
– On the first floor there is a studio with desk and computer and stairs to a mezzanine bedroom with two single beds, a lake view bedroom with two single beds, a bathroom with shower, a living room with TV and video games, the master lake view bedroom with a double bed , bathroom with bathtub and hand shower (bathroom accessible from both bedrooms) and a bedroom overlooking the courtyard with two single beds. This final bedroom can be accessed either from the terrace or from the previous bedroom and bathroom.
– On the second floor there are two bedrooms that open onto a balcony with stunning views over the lake. You will then find a bedroom with a double bed, a bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom with a shower. Please note that the rooms are only accessible via the previous rooms.

Guesthouse (4 pers.)
The independent guest house consists of two simpler apartments - one on the ground floor and one on the first floor - each with a living area with sofa and fridge (no cooking facilities), bedroom and bathroom.

Damage deposit: 1.500 Euro

Included: Maid service available daily apart from Tuesday.
