Villa Ghis is a majestic 17th-century villa located in a prime position overlooking Lake Maggiore. This historic property, situated in the charming town of Baveno, offers guests unparalleled views of the lake and surrounding landscape. Originally acquired by the French philosopher Maurice Blondel in 1920, Villa Ghis is surrounded by an extraordinary garden featuring four distinct styles: Italian, English, Japanese, and French. Each garden is filled with an impressive variety of plants, carefully preserved to maintain its natural beauty. The villa’s renowned gardens have been featured in several prestigious magazines, making it a must-visit destination for garden enthusiasts.

The villa itself spans three floors and comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests. It has been meticulously restored to combine modern comforts with historical charm. The annex, with a separate entrance, provides additional accommodation for up to 4 people, making Villa Ghis ideal for large families or groups. The villa’s interior is flooded with natural light and tastefully decorated, blending antique and modern furniture to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Guests can enjoy alfresco dining in the outdoor dining area in front of the villa or in the beautiful internal loggia. For those seeking relaxation, the villa features a private pool (15m x 6m), surrounded by the lush gardens, where you can unwind while taking in the breathtaking scenery.

Villa Ghis is just a short 5-minute walk from Lake Maggiore, where guests can easily explore the stunning Isole Borromee or enjoy boat rides around the lake. The villa is perfectly located for day trips to Como, Milan, and nearby attractions like Piazza della Chiesa in Baveno.

Daily maid service is available (excluding Tuesdays), ensuring that guests can fully relax and enjoy their stay in this magnificent property.

The housekeeper is living in an independent apartment in the property.

Villa (12 people)

As you enter the main villa on the ground floor, you will find a cozy living room opening to the outdoor terrace, a toilet and the spacious kitchen. You can enjoy your meals outdoors, both on the terrace in front of the villa and in the attractive central courtyard.
– On the first floor there is a studio with desk and computer and stairs to a mezzanine bedroom with two single beds, a lake view bedroom with two single beds, a bathroom with shower, a living room with TV and video games, the master lake view bedroom with a double bed , bathroom with bathtub and hand shower (bathroom accessible from both bedrooms) and a bedroom overlooking the courtyard with two single beds. This final bedroom can be accessed either from the terrace or from the previous bedroom and bathroom.
– On the second floor there are two bedrooms that open onto a balcony with stunning views over the lake. You will then find a bedroom with a double bed, a bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom with a shower. Please note that the rooms are only accessible via the previous rooms.

Guesthouse (4 pers.)
The independent guest house consists of two simpler apartments - one on the ground floor and one on the first floor - each with a living area with sofa and fridge (no cooking facilities), bedroom and bathroom.

Included: Maid service available daily apart from Tuesday.
