Villa la Castagna is an elegant villa set on a sunny plateau surrounded by the green hills of Piedmont. The property enjoys beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and countryside, offering a peaceful setting in the heart of this renowned wine region.

The villa is the dream project of the Danish owners Charlotte and Finn, who purchased the ruins of an old farmhouse on a large plot of land and transformed it into a spacious stone house designed for gatherings with family and friends. The result is Villa la Castagna – a beautiful villa that blends traditional character with modern comfort.

Behind its typical Piedmontese façade lies a refined interior with understated luxury. Scandinavian design is combined with rustic elements such as wooden furniture and natural stone walls. Dark stone floors, black accents and carefully selected designer pieces create a stylish yet warm atmosphere.

The heart of the villa is the spacious living and dining area with a semi-professional kitchen. It is fully equipped for preparing Italian meals together and includes high-quality appliances such as two dishwashers and a wine refrigerator.

The villa offers six hotel-style bedrooms, each with its own modern en-suite bathroom. Some of the bedrooms also feature direct access to a balcony.

Outdoor living plays an important role at Villa la Castagna. The spacious terrace provides plenty of room to relax and enjoy the Italian “dolce far niente”. Guests can prepare homemade pizzas in the wood-fired oven or cook delicious meals on the barbecue.

The large lawn area offers space for games and outdoor activities, while a pétanque court invites guests to enjoy friendly competitions.

The panoramic infinity pool is one of the highlights of the property, offering spectacular views over the rolling hills of Piedmont and creating the perfect setting for long summer days in the sun.

The surrounding region is authentic and rich in character, with charming villages, beautiful landscapes and numerous walking and cycling routes. The area is also famous for its wineries producing some of Italy’s finest wines.

The small village of Cimaferle (Ponzone) lies less than one kilometre away. In summer the village becomes lively, particularly around the local bar and restaurant Sanfont. A delicatessen shop is also located in the village, and the nearby restaurant Il Laghetto serves excellent pizzas for lunch and dinner.

Piedmont is famous for its world-renowned wines such as Barolo and Barbaresco, its truffles and its beautiful countryside dotted with historic villages.

The Ligurian coast is also within easy reach. For a day at the sea, the Riviera di Ponente offers beautiful beaches about an hour away, including Spiaggia di Bergeggi (49 km) and Spiaggia di Noli (55 km), both well equipped for a relaxing day by the water.

Villa for 12 persons: 6 Bedrooms, 6 bathrooms

Villa la Castagna (340 m2) is a spacious villa on a huge plot of no less than 53,000 m2! The house, built in the typical Piedmontese style, is divided into two floors. 

Ground floor: A cozy living room with a comfortable sofa and a TV. A large open plan semi-professional kitchen and adjoining dining room with a table for 12 and a wood burning stove. The kitchen has a kitchen island and is fully equipped with a large gas hob (IIve brand), two washing machines, two fridge freezers, a wine cooler, an ice maker, a micro oven, blenders and much more.
Attached to the dining room is a wine room/cellar with local wines (available to purchase).
A bedroom with a double bed (160 x 200 cm) and a private bathroom (shower/WC); and a separate toilet.

First floor: On the first floor there are five bedrooms with a double bed (160 x 200 cm), each with its own bathroom with a shower and toilet. The master bedroom also has a bathroom. Two of the rooms have access to a balcony.
There is also a laundry/storage room with washing machine, dryer, cot and high chair.

Outside:

In the beautifully landscaped garden you will find nice places in and out of the sun to relax and have fun. You find:

A covered terrace next to the outdoor kitchen with a barbecue, a wood-fired oven (pizza) and a dining table.
A covered terrace (pergola) by the pool with a dining table for 12 people.
An infinity pool (6x12m) with outdoor shower, sun loungers and parasols.
