Located on a sunny plateau, with stunning views of the mountains, you will find Villa la Castagna amidst the green hills of Piedmont. The villa is a dream come true for the Danish owners Charlotte and Finn. They bought a ruin on a large piece of land with a desire to build a traditional stone house with plenty of space for friends and family. Villa la Castagna is the beautiful result!

Behind the facade in the typical Piedmontese style, modern rooms are hidden in discreet luxury. A Scandinavian design is combined with traditional rural elements such as wooden furniture and rough stone walls, while black accents and dark stone floors create a chic ambience. Modern lighting and designer furniture round off the whole thing in style!

The villa is finished to a high standard and equipped with all luxury facilities for a relaxing holiday in maximum comfort. The heart of the holiday home is the living/dining room with a semi-professional kitchen with many options for preparing delicious Italian dishes. In addition there are 6 hotel style bedrooms, each with its own modern bathroom, some with access to a balcony.

Outside you have plenty of space to enjoy the Italian "dolce far niente". In the shade on the terrace you can enjoy homemade pizzas from the wood-fired oven or grill a delicious meat. Children can have fun on the lawn or with a game of petanque. And the magnificent panoramic infinity pool is the place for long summer days.

Piedmont Wine & Gastronomy

The area around Villa la Castagna is authentic and varied with small typical villages, a beautiful hilly landscape with hiking and biking trails and numerous wineries that produce some of the best wines in Italy.

If you miss the sea, you will find some beautiful beaches within an hour's drive on the Riviera di Ponente in Liguria.

Less than 1 km is the small village of Cimaferle (Ponzone). It's quiet in winter, but buzzes with life in summer, especially at the local bar/restaurant Sanfont. In Cimaferle there is also a delicatessen and a little further the restaurant Il Laghetto. It is open for lunch and dinner and serves delicious pizzas.

The Piedmont region is known for its fantastic wines (Barolo and Barbaresco), truffles, beautiful hilly landscapes and authentic villages. But the coast is not far away either.

Sea 1 hour away

For a day at the beach, we recommend going to the Ligurian coast (Riviera di Ponente). You will find some beautiful beaches about an hour's drive away, such as Spiaggia di Bergeggi (49 km) and Spiaggia di Noli (55 km), both with all facilities.

Villa la Castagna (340 m2) is a spacious villa on a huge plot of no less than 53,000 m2! The house, built in the typical Piedmontese style, is divided into two floors. With 6 bedrooms, the house can accommodate 12 people. The layout is as follows:

Ground floor: A cozy living room with a comfortable sofa and a TV. A large open plan semi-professional kitchen and adjoining dining room with a table for 12 and a wood burning stove. The kitchen has a kitchen island and is fully equipped with a large gas hob (IIve brand), two washing machines, two fridge freezers, a wine cooler, an ice maker, a micro oven, blenders and much more.
Attached to the dining room is a wine room/cellar with local wines (available to purchase).
A bedroom with a double bed (160 x 200 cm) and a private bathroom (shower/WC); and a separate toilet.

First floor: On the first floor there are five bedrooms with a double bed (160 x 200 cm), each with its own bathroom with a shower and toilet. The master bedroom also has a bathroom. Two of the rooms have access to a balcony.
There is also a laundry/storage room with washing machine, dryer, cot and high chair.

Outside:

In the beautifully landscaped garden you will find nice places in and out of the sun to relax and have fun. You find:

A covered terrace next to the outdoor kitchen with a barbecue, a wood-fired oven (pizza) and a dining table.
A covered terrace (pergola) by the pool with a dining table for 12 people.
An infinity pool (6x12m) with outdoor shower, sun loungers and parasols. The pool is open from April to September.
