Luxury castle Italy
Dating back to the Middle Ages, when it was the Municipality of Gubbio’s main defense hub against the city of Perugia, the Castle is set in around 500 hectares of uncontaminated countryside dotted with woods, lawns and waterways.
In 1830 the Castle became the property of the current owners, the family of Princess Giulia Bonaparte, the daughter of two first cousins, Zenaide and Carlo Luciano Bonaparte, Prince of Canino, both descended from Napoleon.
The property is situated in the center of a Park (approx. 3 hectares) which features an outdoor swimming pool (7x14 m) with small changing room and shower, a boules ground, rose garden, centuries-old trees and Mediterranean shrubs, as well as lots of pathways along which guests can stroll and enjoy the silence of their surroundings.
The Castle has been completely renovated without altering any of its period architectural features. It has antique furniture and is fitted with all mod cons: Wi-Fi internet, satellite TV, Stereo, CD and DVD player. All the rooms have heating. There are fans in the bedrooms and a professional kitchen.
The Castle is not far from a number of beautiful art cities: Gubbio (21 Km), Perugia (38) and Assisi (27). There are food stores in the small village of Carbonesca, which is just over 1 Km away along an unpaved road.
The whole area is famous for the production of truffles which, at certain times of the year, can be tasted in the local "trattorias".
The Castle consists of two parts – the Castle itself and the Foresteria (guest quarters), which are connected by a covered passageway.
GROUND FLOOR: the structure has 4 reception rooms, starting with the large Sala della Torre on the ground floor, directly connected to the courtyard, with a large stone tunnel vault (13th century); dining room with large fire place (15th century) with bas-reliefs; professional kitchen directly connected to the Courtyard, the Bastion and the dining room.
FIRST FLOOR: reception room with small 15th century fireplace and French windows; small library with 15th century fireplace and 14th century bas-reliefs;
SECOND FLOOR: 5 bedrooms (3 with double beds, 1 with twin beds, 1 with 3 single beds, each with its own bathroom and shower).
THIRD FLOOR: Suite with double bed, bathroom with whirlpool bathtub accessed by a wrought iron spiral staircase that merges with a 13th century stone staircase.
FOURTH FLOOR: Suite at the top of the Tower with double bed (accessed via a wooden staircase), own bathroom with shower.
A covered passageway leads to the “Foresteria” (guest quarters).
GROUND FLOOR: billiard room, ironing room with small kitchen and washing machine.
FIRST FLOOR: 4 bedrooms with double beds, 1 of which has two double beds and bathroom with whirlpool bathtub, and 1 of which has two single beds.
In the attic of the “Foresteria” is an apartment with two double bedrooms and two bathrooms with shower.
Included: daily cleaning (except Sunday); Preparation of breakfast (ingredients purchased to be paid on the premises)
Heating: 200 Euro / day (if used)
Damage deposit: 1.500 Euro
