The Castello dei Bonaparte is nestled in untouched countryside, surrounded by 500 hectares of forest, meadows, and water. The castle's history dates back to the Middle Ages, serving as a defense stronghold for Gubbio against Perugia. Since 1830, it has been owned by the Bonaparte family, currently presided over by Princess Giulia Bonaparte, daughter of first cousins Zenaide and Carlo Luciano Bonaparte, Prince of Canino, both grandchildren of Napoleon.

The castle is set within a three-hectare ancient park featuring a 7 x 14 meter swimming pool, a small changing room with showers, a bocce court, ping-pong, a rose garden, centuries-old trees, and Mediterranean vegetation. Numerous walking paths offer complete seclusion.

The Castello has been completely renovated, preserving all architectural elements from various eras. It is furnished with antique furniture and equipped with every modern comfort: wireless internet, satellite TV, stereo systems, and CD/DVD players. All rooms have heating, individual rooms are equipped with fans, and the kitchen is professionally equipped. The apartment under the roof of the Foresteria guest house is air-conditioned.

Nearby, you will find fascinating art cities: Gubbio (21 km), Perugia (38 km), and Assisi (27 km). In the small town of Carbonesca, just over 1 km away and accessible via an unpaved road, there are grocery stores.

The entire area is renowned for its truffle production, which can be savored at various local restaurants during certain seasons.

The Castle consists of two parts – the Castle itself and the Foresteria (guest quarters), which are connected by a covered passageway.

Castle (with 7 bedrooms):

Ground floor: here there are four living rooms, starting with the large living room in the tower on the ground floor, which is directly connected to an internal courtyard, characterised by large stone arches dating back to 1200; a dining room with a large 15th-century fireplace with bas-relief; a professionally equipped kitchen connected to the internal courtyard, the cannon tower and the dining room.

First floor: living room with a small 15th-century fireplace and French doors, a small library with a 15th-century fireplace and 14th-century bas-reliefs.

Second floor: five bedrooms (three with double beds, one with two single beds, one with three single beds); each of these rooms has its own bathroom with shower.

Third floor: Suite with double bed, bathroom with whirlpool tub, accessible via a spiral wrought-iron staircase, which in turn is set on a 200-year-old stone staircase.

4th floor: Suite at the top of the tower with double bed (accessible via a wooden staircase), with bathroom and shower.
