Luxury Villa Cannero

The Villa Orsi, built in 1905, is the former manufacturer's residence of the family who owned the "Spazzole Verbania" company. After more than a year, the complex restoration is finally completed. The villa, with a room height of almost four metres, has been renovated carefully and in keeping with the original style. The house is equipped with all modern facilities but despite the renovation, the atmosphere of a bygone era remains very present. Old frescoes have been exposed and remains from the 60's and 70's removed.
The imposing, three-storey house is located on a 3.400 m2 plot of land directly on the Cannero Riviera boat harbour, on the Lake Maggiore.
With its four double and two single rooms, four bathrooms and a guest toilet on the ground floor, the villa can accommodate ten people comfortably.
A large terrace at the back of the house invites guests to linger and the big dining table under the subjacent "portico" provides a cool eating space even on a hot day.
The house is furnished with modern furniture and materials (Baxter, Cattelan, Twils & Gervasoni, etc.) as well as with a few restored original pieces. The kitchen is equipped with the newest appliances. A cot and a high chair are available on request.
The parcel consists of a typical, symmetrical Italian garden with roses, magnolias, citrus and palm trees, camellias and hydrangeas as well as a park with ancient trees.
In the park, there is also a private, sun-warmed swimming pool (9 x 4 metres) with view on the Lake Maggiore. In the pool area, eight sun chairs and two huge umbrellas are available.
On warm evenings, a long, massive wooden table with banks awaits guests under a hundred-year old camphor tree for a romantic meal.
Access to the property is on the northeast side, private (slightly hidden due to a lower level), with an electric gate and parking spaces for two to three cars. For further vehicles, spaces can be rented in the neighbouring car park.
From its own parking area, the house can be reached comfortably on a gravel path.

Ground floor: large, comfortably furnished living room (36 m2) with a warmth-producing bio ethanol fireplace. The ceiling paintings from the last century and the old terrazzo flooring give a classic, elegant note to this room. A library with a choice of books, a big flat screen television with Apple TV, a Geneva sound system with Bluetooth interface and a radio DAB+ provide contemporary entertainment. The highly efficient WIFI covers the house and the garden. The recently renovated pianoforte from the Orsi family invites you to play.
Framed by windows with colourful stained glass, the conservatory (18 m2) with sofas and armchairs and the connecting dining room (23 m2) provide a generous amount of space for all the guests.
The direct access to the kitchen, as well as the elegant cupboards attainable from both sides, further enhance the level of comfort.
The superbly equipped kitchen has a modern design and offers two ovens (incl. micro-wave), a big food centre, a dishwasher, a Nespresso coffee machine and a milk frother.

First floor: the two bedrooms Emilia (17 m2) and Salvatore (25 m2), the latter with a breathtaking view over the lake, await the guests. Both rooms have a direct access to the bathroom, located in-between, equipped with a spacious shower, basin, toilet and bidet. The view from the small balcony over the garden and the park is very picturesque.
The Ambra suite consists of a bedroom with balcony (15 m2) and a sitting room (21 m2), with views over the yacht marina and the lake.
The second bathroom, with shower, basin, toilet and bidet, is located at the end of the corridor.
The large terrace (40 m2), equipped with Fermob garden furniture and two umbrellas, offers enough space for quiet, lazy afternoons.

Second floor:  the Suite Arlecchino (36 m2) is situated on the western side and connects two bedrooms to a big room. Two meticulously restored antique beds (transformed into a comfortable double bed) with a matching wardrobe, combined with snug, modern lounge furniture, give this suite a very particular charm.
The two single rooms Angelo and Lucilla (18 and 20 m2), with views over the park and the lake, complete the room offer on this floor. The small windows in each room on the top floor provide enough light in summer but are supplemented by two skylights.
Two bathrooms are available on this floor: the first, identical to the one in the same spot on the first floor, the second with a large shower and a freestanding bath, both with basin, toilet and bidet. Depending on the needs, this floor can accommodate either guests or the staff hired for the duration of the stay.

Cellar: a large wine refrigerator with a choice of local white and red wines is available for individual purchases. A big laundry room with washing machine, dryer and an ice cube maker is also at the disposal of the guests.

A choice of games such as Scrabble, chess, board games and Jass playing cards are available in the house. For outdoor entertainment, guests can choose between croquet, badminton, beach ball and boccia.
The Hapimag water sport centre is right next door, where pedal boats, kayaks and SUPs can be hired.
A motorboat (with or without license) or a jet ski from a local shipyard can be organised upon request.
If you have your own boat, we can sort out a mooring place in the port in front of the house for you.
The tennis club Cannero is just a few steps away.
For golf players, a 9-hole course can be found in Verbania (23 km) and at a cooler 1.000 metres in Premeno, the Golf Club Pian di Sole with a fantastic panorama over Lake Maggiore (26 km). A bit further but just as wonderful, the Golf Club Alpino di Stresa (39 km). The Golf Club Patriziale Ascona (26 km) and the Golf Club Gerre, Losone (24 km) are easily accessible too.

Surroundings & excursions:
The Villa Orsi is located in the middle of Cannero Riviera. This pretty Mediterranean village has shopping facilities nearby as well as a choice of good restaurants and hotels. On Friday morning there is a small market offering everything from sausages, cheeses and vegetables to handbags and shoes.
Thanks to the protected, south facing exposure of Cannero Riviera, all kinds of citrus fruit grow and the vegetation benefits from average temperatures about 2,5° C higher than in the neighbouring localities.
Verbania/Intra is about 15 km south from Cannero and offers great shopping opportunities, whether for clothes, shoes or groceries.
Cannobio has a big Sunday market, good shopping facilities too and a variety of restaurants on the picturesque lungolago.

The given price is a package consisting of the rental fee, utility consumption and services (laundry, cleaning, management and guest care, pool maintenance, etc.) on site.
Included in the price are towels, pool towels and bedding. Electricity, water and gas for the heating. Every Wednesday, cleaning of the floors and bathrooms, maintenance of the pool and the garden. End cleaning of the villa. A housekeeper and/or a private cook can be hired upon request.
A welcome gift of various groceries, soft drinks and a choice of wine bottles, courtesy of the owners, awaits the guests on arrival.
